chris paul's fake-pass cut dribble has always been so pretty to watch. he'll set up a passing lane (usually off of a pick and roll), then hesitation dribble by flicking his wrist violently to create backspin on a fake passing motion to freeze the defenders.
there's really not much to break down here, it's just super aesthetic:
john wall has also used the move a lot - i remember he pulled it out in a game against the chicago bulls (?) in 2015 (?) and the announcers were so confused they thought he had lost his dribble. i’m struggling find an HD version of that play, unfortunately…
but here’s one where he gets luis scola way off balance with it:
many other ball handlers have used it over the years, like jeff teague had a nasty one on a fast break to fake out serge ibaka:

kyrie irving against the brooklyn nets, and finished it off with a ridiculous layup:
ja morant did one this past season against the charlotte hornets off of a pass and used it to transition into a dribble, which was highly impressive:
