ahead of the 2011-12 season, the nba implemented a change that ended the use of the rip-through move to get to the free-throw line. thanks, kevin durant.
since it no longer results in two attempts at the stripe every time, players now have to be more clever in deciding when to attempt it. rest assured though - the move is still alive and well.
no player is more prolific at using it when their team is in the bonus than chris paul. if his opponent has 4+ team fouls in a quarter and cp3 is on the court, a rip-through is likely coming.
