the 2022-23 nba season is here!
i was watching the game between the chicago bulls and boston celtics yesterday and witnessed a wonderful 18-second sequence that i instantly knew i had to post about.
javonte green delivered three defensive medium lights in quick succession:
a timely rotation and a strip
a perfect “verticality” contest in transition
an offensive foul drawn while fighting through a screen
tremendous stuff.
these are the plays that usually go unnoticed, but they definitely helped prevent the bulls’ deficit from getting out of hand early in the game. javonte then hit a 3 on chicago’s next offensive possession to cut the lead to 11.
the bulls went on to win the 2nd and 3rd quarters by 20 and 10 points respectively and eventually win the game in a blowout. you can’t tell me javonte’s sequence here wasn’t important.
medium lights matter!
