How much of Russ being bad or Bjelica being good do you attribute to not having a big enough sample size? Not knocking on anyone here, just wondering how indicative/sustainable you think their performances were?

Damn, watching that Melo clip hurt me a bit lol. Idk if age is a sufficient excuse.

i was basing it more off of how their skillsets seem to mesh with their teammates. i don't think bjelica is going to average 15/11 for the season haha. but his ability to shoot, play without the ball, make smart decisions with the ball, and be a versatile big body offensively is great with dray and steph.

russ is kind of the opposite story. the play style he's used to is not what the lakers need. he'll have to change *a lot* of habits. i think he can get there, great athletes tend to be adaptable - but it will take some time for sure.

when he tries, melo is fine as an on-ball defender. he can lock in for a few possessions if he needs to. but the off-ball stuff, that's never really been there.

Thanks for the reply! Hoping Beli continues his great chemistry with the Warriors while Russ and Melo start to contribute more to the Lakers. It's great to have NBA basketball (and more regular medium lights posts) again!
