I remember being amazed by Herro's floater when it happened. Though I think it gave him some false confidence as I recall him missing that shot a couple more times afterwards, and was starting to wonder if him hitting that shot was actually a good thing for the Lakers.

possible, though i think for his personal development "false confidence" at this point is much better than no confidence.

How do you find particular instances of plays from such a giant set (all NBA games from X years)? Were these plays from games that you've been viewing recently and just happen to have examples of a high arching floater? Or did you deliberately seek for cases by looking at an endless amount of video? I'm genuinely curious because one thing I've seen from your videos is that the examples shown are from vast variety of games and eras.

Big fan of your work btw. You have a really good eye for the game. Keep it up!

great question.

the vast majority of the plays i use are just ones i remember happening from games/highlight videos i've watched in the past. i can visualize them happening in my head, often with some other association ("i'm pretty sure isaiah did an underhand flip going to his left against a team wearing black jerseys" or "i know for a fact i remember john wall doing a cut dribble against the bulls because i remember derrick rose guarding him"). then i simply try to google related words and hope the play in my head pops up on youtube or some other website. it usually doesn't take long to find.

Ah that makes sense. I was able to google search "d'angelo russell high arching floater" and sure enough your linked video came up.
